malacca mission trip ~

wells .. i was back yesterday .. but wasn't in the mood to update cuz was terribly tired .. even now as i'm typing i'm still kinda tired .. i guess i have to "replenish" my sleep over the next 2 days which i'm not having proj meeting .. afew more mins till i go out to meet huiis, vt & eudora to chill and catch up .. shall start updating abit and come back later to update again .. :) enjoy ~

friday : 16th june ..

i went offline at 1 .. but in fact i slept only at 2.. was smsing away then .. and i heard my neighbour upstairs quarrelling .. although we're jux separated by my ceilling/their floor .. i could hear what they were scolding each other !! .. not forgetting them slamming their doors & stomping their feets .. it was like so scary la .. i was wondering whether i was hearing things or izzit real ..

at 6 .. our alarm rang .. but no one wanted to wake up till 6.15 had to drag ourselves up .. washed up + showered then 6.45 coux called to ask if we wanted to join them for breakfast at parkway macs .. they were there already !! .. haha .. at 7.15 we called a cab and headed down to macs and joined them for breakfast .. then went over to church .. the big van was there .. aunty margaret & uncle kim seng were there already ..

went all the way to 4th floor to use the washroom and filled in some insurance forms + the arrival/departure cards for the msia customs .. then at arnd 8+ we set off .. was having a small "mass smsing" session and i saw a rainbow :) .. it was so nice .. haha .. manage to take pics of it !! .. but abit faint .. then got caught in the jam for 1hr +++ at the causeway .. there was too many big coaches arnd .. some how we went thru the immigration rather smoothly .. and our journey offcially started after passing both customs ..

the ride was like so long and bumpy .. somehow fell asleep and we had "tea breaks" along the way .. mum bought 3kg of sweet rambutans!! .. haha .. then the kids were saying all those nonsensical jokes they have .. the adults told stories too .. it was like so fun la .. took pics in the van too !! .. haha .. was pleasantly surprised when i recieved a msg arnd 11+ :) .. when we finally reached malacca .. it was like 1+ going 2 .. left our stuff in the hall and the adults were hungry .. so we went to the alley which had yong tou foo .. shared a bowl with my sis + mum .. then the ladies went arnd the boutiques there while the guys went back to church .. haha ..

we were slacking arnd, taking turns to bathe .. the water was cold !!! .. andrea's family came to join us not long later .. after that packed into the van and headed off for dinner at some restaurant .. the kids were freaking irritating .. i was their "supervisor" cuz i'm the oldest amongst them and had to sit with them .. can u imagine having 3 spoilt kids + 2 sisters .. and i mean they are seriously spoilt la .. they demand for food that they want .. and there's even one who doesn't respect adults and want her own way out .. got so fed up with them ..

after dinner my aunt, aunty marilyn & my mum went over to the nxt shop and bought many goodies !! .. esp almond cookies .. we went on our way to a home fellowship after that .. the place was so ulu .. the HF only had 8 pple .. but including us it became very big !! gathered in the living room .. then sang many chinese songs + had testimony session before uncle paul said a short sermon about spending time with God praying ..

after that headed back to church .. settled down and by 11 we all slept ..

saturday : 17th june ..

kept waking up during the night .. it wasn't really a good night's rest .. oh wells .. my irritating cousin was crawling all over our feets to wake us up la .. and it was like only 8 .. we could actually sleep till later cuz we were having brunch .. in the end by 9.30 we were all ready and decided to eat breakfast .. wanted wanton mee at first but the stall close .. so had egg + bread .. yummy !!

after that went to pick andrea's family from their hotel at arnd 10.30 .. and they made a big fuss cuz they thought that we were eating brunch with them but we thought that they had buffet in their hotel so didn't ask them along .. communication breakdown .. anyway went to jonkers' street and let them have their meal while we walked along the shophouses .. the weather was hot !!! ..

from there we went to pump petrol .. i got a mild headache thus got a bottle of coke + sweets .. then rested during the rest of the ride to the village .. the journey was like 2+ hrs long .. finally we got there at arnd 1+ .. saw many kampong houses, cows, goats, sheeps, dogs and chickens along the way .. so interesting .. haha .. bcuz we were early we had time to walk arnd the kampong .. uncle paul brought us arnd .. hahaha .. amanda went to pluck jumboo (i dunno how to spell it) .. it was sweet and the adults were munching on them ..

saw a white mother hen with 2 chicks following behind her .. so cute la .. haha .. got to see many different types of fruits the people there planted .. uncle kim seng saw a guava tree and went to pluck the fruits there .. aunty margaret scolded him for doing so cuz he didn't ask permission to pluck .. everyone was like looking at him pluck .. then he gave one guava to uncle paul .. it was like eve giving adam the forbidden fruit .. haha .. uncle kim seng was looking for someone to help him keep the guava .. aunty marilyn declined and went to complain to aunty margaret .. haha .. so funny la ..

we saw a house planting different types of vegetables too !! .. long beans, spring onion, chilli padi, cabbage, pandan leaves, etc .. the adults were fascinated and went to have a closed look .. aunty marilyn wanted to pluck some chilli padi to plant .. then uncle kim seng willingly asked if she needed his help to pluck w/out asking permission .. instead she went to "shout" into the house asking the owner if she could pluck some .. haha .. the owner was real nice and gave her a handfull of chilli padi .. haha .. then we headed back cuz class was starting soon ..

on the way back to the house .. the aunty & her daughter came on their motorbike to go arnd "shouting" for the kids to go over to their place for class .. she stopped by and aunty marilyn hopped onto the motorbike !! .. so cool la .. we strolled back and by the time we reached .. the house had many many kids !! .. sang 3 songs and started playing blow wind blow .. after which aunty margaret told the story abt the king who had leprosy and went to seek Elijah for help .. she told the story in like 3 languages .. haha .. english, chinese & hokkien .. it was so funny ..

after that had break time .. the host baked very nice cake !! then the kids had balloons which was blown by my uncle .. suppose to twist it .. in the end burst almost 99% of them .. haha .. such bad quality balloons .. then after the kids left .. uncle paul continue to bring us to see the shophouses near the village .. was gonna have dinner at one of the shops there at 5.30 .. by the time we walked there .. it was 4.30 and the owner of the "restaurant" let us into the restaurant to sit and wait ..

manage to come up with what we were gonna perform for the sunday service and again the spoilt kids were making all sorts of faces .. irritating things. blahhx .. luckily got aunty margaret & uncle paul to back up .. anyway i got to know serene & another girl .. si yuan i think .. + her brother kang wei who has the same prob as his mum .. short tongue .. quite sad la .. i think he's rather smart .. but the short tongue caused a big problem to his speech ..

serene is 15 .. she's kinda friendly .. we were like talking abt many crap .. from tv shows to studies to future occupation to guys .. haha .. she said that i looked like a korean star .. and my mum looked like nancy sit .. not forgetting both my sis looked like they are taiwanese .. hahaha .. so cute right !! .. oh ya .. she thought that i was TWENTY la .. =.=" .. do i really look that old ? .. hahaha .. she told me abt this cute guy in the church who can give out "electric sparks/lightning" with his eyes .. and even said that she was gonna show him to me .. haha .. kept suaning her that kang wei was her husband .. she was like nonono .. hahah ..

after that went back to the house for awhile cuz another grp of singaporeans from my church were there .. jux went to say hi .. haha .. left at 6.30 before the sun set cuz the roads had no headlights which was gonna make the journey back tougher .. rested again .. we reached jonkers' street like at 8.30 and had an hr to walk .. bought some "clothes peg", hp cover, the biggest brown strawbag, a pair of maroon clog heels, a butterfly necklace ..

saw pets on sales .. and it was like so interesting cuz they actually sold scorpions, squrriels, crabs and i heard monkeys as pets .. kinda cruel right .. but seriously i wonder what kind of pets they'll be like .. hmms .. forgot to add that the HF i went to the night before .. the host's daughter bought a pair of squrriels as her pet and i thought they were hamsters at first but realised that they were squrriels after noticing their big bushy tail .. they were very cute!!

we headed back to church and by then it was arnd 10 .. everyone took turns to shower .. my coux was screaming like mad in the toilet cuz of the cold water .. so crazy la .. we took many pics and lights off at 11 again .. was kinda tired but it was another sleepless night ..

sunday : 18th june ..

last day of mission trip .. we got up at arnd 7+ .. by 8 we were all ready and headed to the near by malay stall for breakfast .. had mee goreng .. it was real spicy !! .. haha .. was joking arnd with serene and si yuan .. my coux was being real gross .. totally disgusted by him .. after that went back to church .. it was 9.30 and many people were there already !! .. service started at 10 .. they made me play the electric piano .. i was like so nervous and stressed out cuz it was like so impromptu .. aunty irene prayed for us and wells .. i jux left everything to God.

i could play the 3 fast songs but not the 3 slow ones cuz i dun even know the chinese songs .. didn't manage to catch up with the drum beat at first cuz uncle paul started too fast .. but in the end all went well :) .. thank God !! .. haha .. had communion then the performance by us .. i totally forgot my chords for the song la .. so ended up playing the melody only .. we did fine :) .. had another testimony session again .. then sermon by uncle kim seng translated by aunty lynn .. the kids went for class taught by my mum with the help of aunty margaret ..

was writing sermon notes and i guess serene & ya wen were fascinated .. i know serene was surprised by my Bible cuz it had precious moments pics in them .. haha .. uncle kim seng asked me to answer his question .. and made amanda read from the passage .. so funny la she wasn't prepared and she didn't bring her Bible .. so read from mine instead ... sang a slow song as benediction and during prayer .. si yuan's sis came to kachao me at the piano .. haha .. so cute !! .. she smiles very sweetly !!

after service exchanged address with serene & the rest .. took pics and we were crapping for awhile .. so sad that the "electric spark/lightning" guy wasn't arnd .. and there were only 2 guys but not really that cute .. haha .. serene was like asking me when i'll go back again .. i told her 1 yr and she was complaining that it was so long .. hahaha .. hope that maybe in sept can go back or sth .. cuz it's their hols .. si yuan also asked .. she gave me her hp no. .. i really find the kids there nice !! ... :) ..

we brought our stuff down and packed into the van .. off we went for lunch .. nearly lost our way there !! .. haha ... had chicken rice balls :) .. then decided to go to JB for seafood before coming back to sg .. was trying to sleep on the way but in the end took really short naps .. the return trip was long and bumpy again .. had a break on the way .. then reached JB at arnd 5+ .. from where we had our seafood .. we could see sg !! .. haha .. so cool la .. jux separated by one sea ..

then headed back arnd 6+ .. found a short cut to the causeway .. but bcuz of the height limit our van was abit higher than the pole and couldn't pass .. so went one round .. we went off and squeezed our way thru the customs .. haha .. then chiong over to sg .. so fun la .. like doing some "fire drill" exercise .. hahaha .. we manage to reach sg before 7 .. and got back to church arnd 8+ ..

there was very little cabs arnd and we waited very long till we finally got one .. headed home and washed up, unpacked .. blah blah blah .. everyone was fighting for the toilet la .. hahaha .. came online and was chatting away .. he really made my day :) .. but so tired i slept at arnd 1 ..
